Yesssssss! Just finished probably one of the Best mixtapes I ever produced in my career. Its called Hip-Pop Rockstar II. Its the 2nd one of the series, this time hosted by Diddy. Some of you may have heard or heard of the 1st I did with Tommy Lee. If you didn't hear it, its what most people call a mash up style cd but I call it Smash up style...its 80's, 90's and present day hits all mixed & smashed up but unlike you ever heard because not only are the smash ups already incredible but then I produce more music on top of some of them. This one blows the last one away. Its also done in association with E! Entertainment & the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas where we are launching the biggest weekly party every Saturday in 2008 @ Body English in the Hard Rock. Oh btw, I Debut an exclusive bonus track on this CD titled "On 2 you" Written, produced & yes performed by yours truly & it also features my boys Pitbull & Fatman Scoop.....Hope ya'll like it...Get Familiar!!!!

Jay Steps Down From President of Def Jam

After months of speculation surrounding the future of his position, rapper/executive Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter announced today (December 24) that he will be stepping down from his job as Def Jam’s president when his contract expires at the end of 2007. Music industry website Hits Daily Double reports that, although he will no longer oversee the label, he will remain a Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam recording artist. While rumors have circulated over the last few years about him joining former colleagues Lyor Cohen or Rick Rubin at the Warner Music Group or Columbia Records, respectively, no details were released about Jay taking on a new executive position in the future.

Jay stated:“I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have served as President of such a culturally-defining label as Def Jam over the last three years. During that time, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many of the world’s most dynamic artists and many of the most dedicated and talented executives in the music business today, including [IDJMG Chairman/ CEO] Antonio “L.A.” Reid. But now it’s time for me to take on new challenges. I am pleased to have had the opportunity to build upon the Def Jam legacy, helping to move the company into a new era of artistic success.”

L.A. Reid also added: “Jay made it clear to us that he feels the time has come to take on different challenges in his life. While we regret his decision to move on, we certainly respect it. Since Jay joined us as President of Def Jam in 2005, we have all benefited from his leadership, sense of spirit and invaluable friendship. While he will continue to be one of our signature artists, he will nonetheless be missed in this executive capacity. DMX is Back

After being released from his Sony Music deal earlier this year, rapper DMX has signed a deal with the music division of Canadian online gaming company Bodog Entertainment.

The rapper plans to release his next two albums, "Walk With Me Now" and "You'll Fly With Me Later" in 2008. His lone album for Sony after leaving Def Jam, "Year of the Dog ... Again" was released in 2006 and has sold 329,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Bodog Music recently snagged international distribution rights for the Wu-Tang Clan's comeback album, "8 Diagrams."
